Dartmoor Forest – Tintagel

20/10/18 – 23/10/18 Devon to Cornwall

Well we have had 3 days wild camping on Dartmoor, beautiful place, with the wild horses. Plenty of walks and we had our first run for a while, just a small 4 miler for me. Onwards and upwards, or as usual in my case a downward slope !

Had a lovely day walking around Burrator Reservoir  which is a reservoir on the south side of Dartmoor Forest, love seeing all the wild ponies.

Sunday sees us at the Sky Lark Inn  for Sunday Lunch, with John, Elaine, Dexter and Dixie, it was very yummy, didnt even need a pud !!!!! WHAT !!!!! I know

Then a walk back to the van and spot some stripey cows and thanks to my cousin Donald I now know they are Belted Galloways, how cute !

On the way to Tintagel we stop off at Nectans waterfalls, lovely walk up there. These dogs belong to butchers I think !! Boom boom, all this walking.

and if we would have paid £5.95 this is what they would have looked like !

Tintagel and St Materiana church was built between the years 1080 and 1150 and is almost entirely as it appears today.

We didn’t get to see Tintagel castle as they are building a bridge to the island through the winter and the site is closed, but you can follow progress on Tintagel bridge  and this is what it will look like when it’s finished, very impressive.

and the views are again beautiful and the site for our 2nd run…. very steep but I made it !

After all that hard work I think its a case of, when in Cornwall and all that !!! Salad curtesy of moi, pasty curtesy of Pengenna Pasties and well worth £4.
