Took another look around Silves, beautiful place, the castle
The Praca Al’Mutamid, which is a modern reconstruction of an Islamic period water garden. It is named after a child ruler of Silves.
Some more Silves pics, two of a lovely square,
The Dave meeting Cliff, who was trying to flog his crap wine (cliffs words not ours !)
The Ponte Velha, spans the River Arade, sometimes referred to as the Roman Bridge, which actually dates from the mid 14th century
Then back to Alvor for an evening walk and some more exploring
Thursday 19/01/17 – Friday 20/01/17 -Alvor
Lovely walk into Portemao (about 12km) along the coast and cliffs, then on a recommendation we have a menu del dia, sardines for me and Algarvian hake for Dave, very nice too.
And storks everywhere even on top so Lidls !
